The Art of Coin Ring Making:

A Journey from War to Passion A Legacy of Creativity and Craftsmanship...

War was once described as 95% boredom and tedium and the remaining 5% being pure fear and absolute terror. Our veterans, in their moments of respite, used their downtime to create unique artforms. One such craft involved transforming coins, or loose change, into ring bands for their loved ones. My grandfather, Jack, a sergeant in the Australian Army, was among those who found solace in this art. He crafted a ring from an Australian Florin, a two-shilling piece, for his beloved wife, whom he affectionately referred to as Chum (while the Florin is equivalent to the 20 cents piece it does not hold the same value both in silver and buying power). This ring, known as Jack’s Ring, stands as a testament to his love and creativity. Inspired to rediscover and continue this beautiful artform, I sought out Jason and his company, Jason’s Works Coin Ring Tools. His tools are unique, highly specific, and meticulously polished to avoid marking the coin’s delicate embossing. Today, I am proud to offer a full range of Coin Ring Tools, enabling others to craft their own pieces of history and love.Kind Regards, Rob Harbottle.
