Cast Iron or Fabricated?

Arbor presses are sized by their tonnages they can press, 1 to 10 tones are common, but for coin folding press a 1-ton unit is perfectly adequate. However, often the standard handle size on most machines is too short, so you can either choose to build up the pecks or add a longer handle (Make sure you select a ‘high tensile’ steel handle) or your handle will soon be banana shaped.
Fabricated:
The SCA (Super Cheap Autos) unit is a fabricated steel press, well made, and has a 1ton capacity. But as usual could benefit from a longer handle. To buy a SCA arbor click here.
Cast Iron:
Hare & Forbes and similar have Cast Iron units of 1, 2, 3, 5 ton capacity. The machining is reasonable, but most units need to be cleaned, adjusted and lubricated.

A slightly larger unit is often an advantage, but too big can get a little tedious sometimes in use. Many local businesses have an agency to Hare Forbes equipment i.e. arbor click here.
