Coin Ring Tools Australia – Handling your order!
Importing tools from the USA (Jason Works) to Australia is an exercise in logistics. Most of the tools are heavy made from stainless tool steel while the tool holders are timber and mush lighter. As the range and diversity of the tools increased so did the overall weight of the tool set.
To aid manufacturing kits runs were introduced and the manufacturing savings were passed on to end users. However, the freight costs are vastly different for kits (compact heavy small boxes) verses a single component that are much lighter.
Air Freight means the product is cycled quickly but it come with a catch. It is expensive. Sea Feight is would be better, but only when the volumes are much higher (pallets & Containers). Simply, the investment and tool volumes would be unsustainable.
Air Freight was a good solution. However, a careful understanding of the charge system “Volumetric Weight” verses “the dead weight” is required. The difference between the two freight costs per kilogram is amazing and this creates a dilemma.
So, we are introducing a consolidation of orders that are for a single component or sub 250grams in weight. It slows the product movement slightly but helps the keep the costs in hand. See the below diagram.
Consolidated Order System
We hold stock in Australia, but to address every component, kit and set combination would mean we would have to carry a far greater holding again. Therefore, to ensure a fair and quick distribution to all customers a consolidation system is being trialed. This means a purchase of single components (2 or 3 dies) your order will be consolidated with other orders to ensure the refill order has minimum weight of 10kgs.
This minimum of 10kgs of product per month will contain freight costs. Orders are processed on the 10th of each month. We are increasing the value of our stock holding every month. If managed well all product movements should reach our customers in 20days maximum.
Our goal is simple. Provide a complete range of Jason Works tools at the best price possible and in a timely manner. My hope is that this new program of Order Consolidation will deliver the best ring crafting tools on the planet for everyone. Yes, Jason Works tools are that good!
